Good Wednesday, everyone! Today will feature our best chance at rain for at least the next six days. Additional thunderstorms will be possible today as the remnants of tropical cyclone Barry move through the Ohio Valley. Brief heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and lightning will be the main threats. Locations that see repeated episodes of heavy rain could see some isolated flooding problems develop.
The bigger story will come during the end of this week, as we will experience an increase in heat and humidity. Afternoon temperatures on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be in the low to mid-90s with afternoon heat indices topping out in the 100-105 degree range. The NWS states that if you have outdoor plans late this week and this weekend, plan to take breaks in the shade or indoors with air conditioning. Drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen. NEVER leave kids or pets unattended in vehicles. The NWS will likely issue a heat advisory with this type of heat, and we will keep you updated right here throughout the week! Your latest 5-day forecast has been updated below, have a good day!
