The Weather Train

Forecast Updates

Tuesday Evening Update

Good evening folks, I wanted to drop in and give everyone a quick update. The first wave of rain is currently moving into the area. Snow and sleet are also possible, but no accumulations or travel issues will occur. Heavy rain continues to be the main story, with two to three inches expected through Wednesday night. The latest weather train maps have been updated:

The Weather Prediction Center has also issued a slight risk for excessive rainfall that could cause flooding issues, with a moderate risk for excessive rain just to the southwest of our area. The Weather Prediction Center issues outlooks just like the Storm Prediction Center issues, except they deal with flooding. A slight risk means that there is a 20-30 percent chance that any additional rain will cause flooding, and a moderate risk means that a 30-50 percent chance of any additional rainfall will cause flooding.

Flood Watch also remains in effect through Wednesday night.Always remember that a Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding, especially in flood-prone areas. If you live in a flood-prone area, make sure that you are monitoring the latest weather conditions and forecasts.

Have a great night everyone!
