Wednesday Evening Update
Things have settled down this evening, enjoy it because our weather will get active again on Friday and Saturday. I expect more flooding issues to arise, as an additional two to three inches of rain is expected during the Friday and Saturday time frame. The National Weather Service will likely issue a Flash Flood Watch for a majority of the state, as conditions are favorable for the development of Flash Flooding. If you live in a flood prone area, please make sure that you are monitoring the latest forecasts as conditions can change quickly this weekend.
Severe weather also looks to be a concern. The Storm Prediction Center already has our entire area in a SLIGHT risk for severe weather on Saturday, but we could be included in higher risk in later outlooks.
I’ll have more detailed information on Saturdays potential severe weather event in later blogs, as the details remain unclear at this moment. The main threats with any storm at this time appear to be damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Stay tuned for further information!
