The Weather Train

Forecast Updates

Tuesday Morning Update

Good morning all! We don't have a lot to talk about over the next 2 days, as mostly sunny conditions are expected with temperatures approaching 60 today and 70 tomorrow. Thursday is when the weather gets active, as two waves look to impact the area. The first wave will be an area of showers and storms, but should be weakening as it moves across Kentucky. As we progress into the afternoon hours, another round of showers and storms will develop and move through Kentucky. There is the potential for isolated severe weather with the afternoon line. The SPC has placed much of the state in a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe weather on Thursday. There are still details that we need to figure out, so stay tuned.

Isolated heavy rain is also possible on Thursday, with up to 2 inches possible across portions of Western Kentucky. Another threat that we will deal with on Thursday will be very high winds. Wind gusts could exceed 30-35 MPH at tjmes.

Calm and cooler weather is expected for the weekend, with no rain chances as of right now. Stay tuned, and have a great day.
