Monday Morning Update
Good Monday everyone! Waves of showers/storms will progress through the region today as an area of low pressure moves across the deep south. Rainfall amounts today will range between an inch to three-quarters of an inch.
This will be the best stretch of weather this week, as temperatures will top out in the lower 70's with mostly sunny conditions expected.
This looks to be the most active period of the week as a strong area of low pressure moves over the midwest. This area of low pressure will increase winds from the south, which will allow temperatures to rise into the upper 70's on Thursday. Wind also looks to be concerning on Thursday, as wind gusts could be as high as 40-45 MPH, which would be wind advisory criteria. As we head into Thursday afternoon, a line of strong/severe storms will develop to our west. This line will move east throughout the afternoon hours and will move into Central Kentucky during the overnight hours on Thursday. We aren't looking at a significant severe weather threat, but a few isolated severe storms can't be ruled out.
Heavy rain and strong storms are possible during this period with the biggest threat being heavy rain, we will keep an eye on this over the next several days! Have an excellent day everyone!
